In August 2017, Newspoint was selected for the first edition of the Accelerator Program at weXelerate – one of the largest startup accelerators in Europe. From over 1,000 applications from 72 countries to the program, after the selection process, 52 startups from 14 countries were invited, including only two from Poland. The 4 month Acceleration Program (Batch 1) was launched in September 2017.

Robert Stalmach, CEO of Newspoint, encourages: “We applied for the first recruitment weXelerate, firstly because we operate internationally and Austria, where weXelerate is based, is an important market for us. Secondly, we were looking for an accelerator that supports comprehensively entrepreneurs by providing a place to work, high-level mentoring, training, business relations and assistance in planning international expansion. Thirdly, we needed a partner who is interested in supporting a structured, proven and profitable business, not companies at the concept stage. This we found in weXelerate; very nice selection of start-ups from various industries and countries, the opportunity to work with experts in various fields, contacts with top brands, a super space to work plus the unique atmosphere of Vienna – all together creates perfect conditions for searching, testing and implementing solutions. Thanks to the contacts we made during the stay in the accelerator, we gained many new business partners and clients. We have also learned many things; trainings concerned, among others legal, financial, marketing issues, creating business plans and pitch decks. We were given a lot of workshops on the principles of product design and growth hacking, especially in terms of methods of development and transactional optimization of the SaaS platform. Worth recommending to everyone at the stage of business growth and scaling.

The weXelerate accelerator connects large corporations with startups from around the world to jointly work on innovative projects, open new markets and develop innovative and progressive products. The innovative ecosystem of weXelerate focuses on the four-month Accelerator Program, open to startups from around the world. The program consists of modules and aims to increase the participating companies, accelerate the development of cost-effective innovation processes, and support in achieving market success through new products and services. During each edition of the Program, 16 large corporations and over 50 startups work together to achieve these goals. At present, recruitment for the next edition of the Accelerator Program is being carried out and runs until May 9, 2018.

Gabrielle Costigan, managing director of weXelerate, explains: “weXelerate is now looking for the best start-ups from all over Europe, including Poland, to apply for the Batch III Acceleration Program. Thanks to the support of our network and corporate partners, we make Vienna the right starting point for European companies introducing products and services that set trends in the DACH region. We offer a very individual approach, giving participants the freedom to decide about their unique support needs, the requirements of know-how and mentors who complete the Batch III phase. ”

Startups participating in the program receive access to over 100 mentors with extensive experience in entrepreneurship, management and business consulting. Participation in the program does not involve any costs and does not require equity. Participants cover only the costs of stay and travel.

During the Accelerator Program, high-quality jobs will be available in a perfect location in the heart of Vienna – weXelerate Spaces. Depending on the requirements of individual startups, workplaces can be used continuously, weekly or selectively during the program. Almost every day there will be educational courses, conferences, panel discussions and network events. weXelerate focuses mainly on the following areas and technologies: media, banking, insurance, engineering, energy / utility, blockchain, AI, mobility and security.

The next edition of the Program will start on October 1, 2018, and will end in mid-January 2019 at Investor’s Day and Demo Day, giving startups the opportunity to present themselves to potential clients, employees and investors.
